Three questions for Thilo Mühle
What is the idea behind the Teutonia Sport II?
With the Teutonia Sport II, we are extending our Teutonia family and give it a significantly sportier look. As applies to all Mühle watches, the new Teutonia Sport II has the classic nautical Mühle values of precision, robustness and good readability – characteristics which are part of a good outdoor watch. Technically, our elegant Teutonia models would also be very well suited to the sporty use in nature and on the water – but the Teutonia Sport II has now visually become a real sportsman, too, having nautical values which is obvious at a glance.
Are there more models running into this direction?
Besides the Teutonia Sport II, we also presented the Teutonia Sport I at Baselworld. This chronograph has a tachymeter function and therefore is in its element wherever timekeeping meets speed.
When will the Teutonia Sport II be available in stores?
The Teutonia Sport II is being delivered now and will be able to be experienced live at jewelers in just a few days. The Teutonia Sport I will also be available at jewelers from mid/late May.
"The Bella Macchina" in words
The long-standing connection between Mühle-Glashütte and the automotive industry is just as impressive as the rich history of these traditional brands. At as early as the start of the 1920s, R. Mühle & Sohn was already a valued manufacturer of speedometers, rev counters and car clocks and the traditions of these instruments are reflected in the Teutonia Sport II. Alongside its traditional influences, this model also features dynamic colours that give it a real sporty touch without losing its focus on Mühle-Glashütte's proven nautical values of perfect readability, excellent robustness and absolute precision.
Its hands and off-centred small-second display at the 9 o'clock position stand out against its dark face, thus providing the best possible readability. The straightforwardness and functionality of the Teutonia Sport II underline the fact that Mühle-Glashütte always focuses on the functions of its watches ahead of their designs. This model's sporty look is therefore tailored to provide a particularly clear layout. By reducing the watch's design down to its most important functions, Mühle has also ensured that wearers can easily read the time at a glance, even when travelling at high speed.
It almost goes without saying that the Teutonia Sport II is not only an ideal companion when the sun is shining, but remains a top performer whatever the weather. Its scratch-resistant double anti-glare sapphire crystal provides a clear view of its high-contrast face in even the strongest rain and the Super LumiNova coating on its indices and hands enables them to reliably show the time throughout the day and night and in all kinds of conditions. On top of all this, the model's screw-in crown and screwed-down transparent back make its extremely robust case water-resistant up to 10 bars. Moisture and dirt are also no match for its tough leather and rubber strap.
It is ultimately thanks to its SW 290-1 automatic movement with Mühle-Glashütte's patented fine regulation that the Teutonia Sport II is able to offer the outstanding precision that characterises every Mühle watch. As a result, this sporty timepiece simply cannot deny where it feels right at home: be it at a classic car rally or on an outdoor adventure weekend, there's nowhere this Teutonia would rather be than on the wrist of a wearer with a sporty and active lifestyle.
After the chronograph version, the Teutonia Sport II is the latest new member to complement the athletic focus of the Teutonia family. This new model stands out thanks to its distinctive and dynamic appearance and is a prime example of the classic Mühle values of perfect readability, excellent robustness and absolute precision.
