Each chapter sets their own policies, but there are no national prohibitions on non-members attending chapter meetings.

Regional meetings are a different story-you do need to be a member to attend the mart at a regional meeting-although the educational parts of the program are free and open to the public. The mart can also be open to the public on an officially-sanctioned public day.

It actually depends on the chapter "guest" rules, since most chapters allow you to attend as a guest for a short time, before requiring you to join the association.

Very true, at least at my local chapter.

The regional is a different story. I generally am at the registration desk for the Lexington regional(along with one or two other folks at most times), and insist on seeing a membership card for packet pick-up or onsite registration even from folks I know very well.

I should also mention the "escorted visitor" policy for regional meetings, where a non-member can enter the mart room while escorted by a member(generally it's our chapter president, although any member can do so), although such visitors are not permitted to buy or sell.
