I went to Philadelphia, where I was giving a lecture at the 2016 Foundation for Appraisal Education Seminar at Freeman’s Auctioneers & Appraisers
It was an excellent event, with some excellent keynote speakers, I marked in yellow two that were especially interesting Lisa Minardi (PHD)gave a talk on Pennsylvania German Fraktur: From A to Z by LISA MINARDI,PH.D. Candidate, Assistant Curator, Winterthur Museum,Wilmington, DE.
She showed an old tall clock with "Fraktur" on the glass rather than painted.
I will get photos to post here.
Has anyone seen another tall clock decorated by "Fraktur"?
The speaker prior to me was also a "legend in her own right" - outstanding talk. - "What is Essential is Invisible to the Eye": Scientific Evidencefor Marriages, Fakes, and Forgeries in the Fine and Decorative Artsby JENNIFER L. MASS, PH.D. , Senior Consulting Scientist,Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam and President, Scientific Analysisof Fine Art, LLC
My talk Watches: "Luxury or Lie by ADAM HARRIS,National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors" - was in my opinion another strong promotion of NAWCC, with many attendees both asking about the class and membership.
