    1858 Special Edition

    I just love this watch

I had previously wrote up my thoughts on the black dial with metal strap.
Crazy that I am, I have just gone out and bought the special edition version of the manual wind,
so this is just a quick photo tour of the special edition

The main difference in the special edition is (i) the sepia numbers

and the black leather strap with sepia stitching

The display window is as magnificent as ever, showing off the Unitas 6498-2 mechanism (the top decorated version with 21600 beats per second). The only difference with the standard edition is the number of the watch in the run engraved on the back.

I found the lume a bit weak on the standard edition, for some reason, the special edition lume is very strong, in fact the brightest I have ever seen on a watch:

The sapphire on the face is the lovely vintage steep dome, and the lovely large onion crown (great for winding, but also that pilot look) has the traditional contemporary Montblanc logo:

leaving the face with the vintage Montblanc style logo (not for watches of course, as Montblanc only began producing watches in 1997)

This is large and super clear, but thin and very light. Looks super on my tiny wrist
So a lovely watch to have on all day, and a thing of beauty to look at. And of course those boring meetings where I take it off and stare at the back

    best rgds

I purchased one about two years ago but sold it last year, because it wore too large on my tiny wrist.

    It is a gorgeous Watch.

Yours looks perfect on your wrist.

    Wear it in good health!

Great watch, my only gripe is that it looks too thin for the size. What's the thickness including crystal?

Looks great! I was interested in this model too but 44mm is too large for me. Looking forward to try out the new smaller 1858 models launched this year.

I was eyeing these as well. Really like the steel mesh bracelet some come with. Congrats!

I've had this watch for almost 3 years now and still in love with it!
    How are you finding it?
