I have a Montblanc Heritage Perpetual Calendar watch which I really enjoy.
I’m seeing a problem with it intermittently where the day of week wheel only advances halfway overnight. The timekeeping is fine, the date and moon phases advance, but the day of week will end up sitting between “Thu” and “Fri” about halfway. On the next day, the date wheel doesn’t advance, I assume because the day of week dial is now advancing from the halfway position to “Fri”.
I wear the watch about once a week and have it on a winder the rest of the time and the problem seems to happen 5-6 days after I wear the watch. Initially, I had the winder at 800tpd and thought maybe it was power-starved after being on the winder for a long time. I tried 1440 tpd and then 2000 with the same problem, again, usually late in the week. I’ve worn the watch more frequently in the past and never remember seeing this happen, but as I got more watches, I wear it less .
Has anyone seen this before? I’m guessing the watch will need to go in, but I thought I’d ask here first.
