    Montblanc Newbie

    Hey all,

I never thought I would end up as a Montblanc owner, but after getting pretty good deal on my new Heritage Chronometré Auto on ToM and after putting it on a nice Nomos brown suede strap, well, here I am

    Some initial observations:
    * I love the sculpted lugs
    * The stock strap makes this too "serious" (see pic below)
    * It is incredibly comfortable to wear
    * My WIS friends are already starting with "Are you seriously wearing THAT"
    * The Sellita movement is not the highest grade (e.g. the balance wheel doesn't have flared spokes - see pic)
    * Accuracy as per my FC Clip is not up to COSC spec even though this is a certified chronometer (see pic) - but I will keep track for on the wrist performance and hopefully will remember to report back- at least it runs fast
    * The unassuming looks of this watch is its appeal
    * I like the heavy crown tube (see pic)
    * The date is not very legible in poor lighting

Anyways, I know the forum sweet heart is the Heritage Chronometre Slim, but this is a really nice piece that can use a bit more love - ergo my post.

    Cheers,
    Yehuda

Welcome, it took me many years to purchase my Mont Blanc after my first trying one on in Vegas in 2003, but it was well worth the wait.

At first I wasn't sure about this one and even posted it on f29 - in hindsight it was probably the OEM strap - but this morning I decided to give it a chance and I am really glad I did.

So after 24 hours of constant wrist time the Heritage Chronometre is exactly +6 spd... I guess it is Chronometre spec after all

Beautiful simplicity. I have a timewalker, still one of my favorite watches

    Re: Montblanc Newbie

After wearing this watch for 8 consecutive days (which is no small feat the initiated) I have some more observations:

    * My non-WIS friends love this watch
    * The step in the bezel between the slope of the bezel and the case adds depth and character
    * The hands and indices are slightly faceted, which plays nicely with the light, although I would have preferred stronger facets on hour and minute hands
    * The blue seconds hand yields a great element of contrast
    * The rotor and movement are somewhat louder than I prefer ie they are noticable to me in a quiet room
    * Accuracy is very stable, although (just barely) outside of COSC spec - see pic attached. Frankly, I'm dissatisfied with the claim Chronometre...
    * It is super comfortable. I'm having a hard time readjusting to bulky watches like divers and chronographs
    * The tang buckle feels cheap
    * The sunburst dial and railroad track indices work really well together
    * The lugs curve so well against the curve of my wrist

Anyways, if time allows for it I will try to put together a proper review.

One last thought to leave you with, after 8 days of wearing this watch, can you guess what I am wearing as I type this?

    Cheers!

I wish that model was available without the date but it is one great looking watch that I have on my list.
