Saw the new series moon phase in a boutique last week

I had been excited to see it, but honestly just a bit disappointed. It looks so much like the JLC, yet somehow is not the JLC. Would have been more excited wtih some originality to the watch. I am sure it is a nice and fine watch, but left me a little cold. Still hoping the new perpetual in the new series is a winner.

    Hello sir,

Yes, I share your point of view and the JLC comparison is quite frequent, to be honnest. However, there's quite a gap in terms of price range and Heritage, as told by its name, is designed to be very classical. Sure, it's not smoking hot, but consistent with its positioning, don't you think ?

    Cheers,

You have a point. The JLC MSRP is $10K. Not sure on the Montblanc, maybe half that? So for the price, yes a lot of difference. But looking at the MB, it just looked kinda plain and washed out to me. It is of course a very simple and classic watch without any bling, as is the JLC. Given that, to me its success would be on execution of all the details and finishing such as case, hands, dial, etc. Those to me just didn't scream "wear me." But yes, for someone wanting that look, the MB will be much more affordable. Again, as noted I am hoping the perpetual is much more interesting to me. I would like to see the line do well, just the first one I saw was s bit disappointing. But fully agree need to consider the cost...

Do you als pay attention to the caliber ?

Cause if you really - and only - want a manufacture caliber, JLC is a reference.

What's your opinion about that ?

    Cheers,

No, I have several watches with ETA or other purchases movements. Manufacture movements are nice, but not totally necessary, to me. I was more commenting on the overall feel of the watch.
