Watch out for the hot news from Montblanc at the SIHH !

    Hello all,

Welcome to the Montblanc online world on Watchuseek !

I'm glad to be your humble devoted here.

To start with hot, very hot SIHH news, Montblanc is about to create a new collection called Heritage. Quite a common name in the industry, alas...

Still, Montblanc Heritage collection will include 5 new references. We already know four of them :

    1. On top of the range : a Villeret monopusher chronograph, limited edition : 27'000 euros
    2. A QP : 10'000 euros
    3. A moonphase : 3400 euros
    4. A simple automatic : 2000 euros
    5. and a surprise....

Want more ? Sure : For Q3 this year, Montblanc will unveil a brand new Grande Complication.

Enough said ! Jerome Lambert, former JLC CEO now managing Montblanc, is in the house... Get ready !

Any thoughts on the Grande Complication ?
The Villeret monopusher and the 10k QP are also very, very anticipated...

    Cheers,

    Olivier

Unfortunately they will all be beyond my reach. I do like the Grand Complication, very, very nice. I like the Roman Numeral XII, a very classy looking timepiece indeed.

Too bad ! The simple automatic at 2000 euros will deserve a close look. Otherwise, you can still have a glance at Chrono24, Chronollection, etc. for second hand watches. Most of MB watches, but quartz ones, will surely represent a safe investment.

I have always loved Montblanc watches. Never owned one though. I think this might change this year. I wish they made the timewalker in 42mm or less version??

    Yes, well maybe some day.....
The models I most like are:

Star Chrono UTC Auto special 'Carpe Diem'
    Star Chrono GMT Auto
    Star Chrono Auto
    Star Date Auto

Mostly all of these on brown leather straps. They are all beautiful watches.

Wise choices. However, IMHO, the case of some Star is a little bit oversized, espcially on top of it, when it comes above the dial.

Unlike some other models, for me, the most beautiful Star is the more simple. Something like this :

Thank you, I though so too!

This one is Sweet! Very nice, elegant, and simple and I really like the numeral style but not too overly fond of the small seconds hand although I guess that small seconds dial might be a subtle statement. The model is certainly very nice, no question. Does it come only in rose gold?

Well, in terms of gold finishing, you have three different versions : Two with a white dial, one with a grey dial.

Amongst the two white dials, you have one version "full gold", the other one being in fact in steel, with a gold finishing around the case...but not in the lugs. That's why I don't like this model, it's quite strage to me to have two different metal finishing next to each other, as if the lugs had been attached to a case but not meant for it.

The grey dial, on the contrary, is amazing, IMHO. Which one do you prefer ?

My personal preference is the grey dial, absolutely, no question. The contrast is very appealing and they grey makes it look that much more elegant. I don't understand why they produced the two tone model (steel lugs with gold case). To me the white face and grey face would have been enough. But if the price was right (much less), sure, I'd get the two tone!
