Would you be be interested in a 500 hours test certificate from MB ?

    Hi folks,

Montblanc is currently testing all its watches assembled in house - all but the Villeret production, in fact, which has its own testing process.

    It's the 500 Hours test.

We all know that Jaeger-LeCoultre does the same, the famous 1000 Hours test. A certificate goes along with this test, along with every JLC timepiece.

What about MB ? Would you be interested in getting such a certificate from MB ?

Would you think it would give more value to the watch, especially when selling them ?

I recently read about this 500 hours testing process too. It's interesting that JLC does a 1,000 hours test. Surely Mr. Lambert took the idea from JLC. Good to see so many influences from his time with the brand being incorporated into Montblanc. I think a certificate will be good to have, and for re-sale down the road, if for nothing but reassurance to those who aren't as familiar with the quality of Montblanc's craftsmanship.

Indeed sir ! However, this 500h test was in place before Mr came on board. It's a long time story but no one can really tell why MB never told anything about it...

I also saw on a forum that some buyers were afraid of this test, wondering if their *future* timepiece would look like already used after this test !!!

But a good added-value, indeed, for the re-sale.

Interesting Olivier. Thanks for passing that along. I think that Lutz Bethge did a great job lauching Montblanc's wristwatch ambitions, but their marketing seems to be a bit lacking compared to other brands. I think that's why it was never communicated this test before now. Maybe it's due to the fact that they basically have no competition in the pen market that they don't have the talent to market like the Omegas, Rolexes, IWCs, etc. of the watch world.
