Watchuseek team met with Daniel Jimenez, co-founder and CEO, of Pita Barcelona. Daniel had shown a prototype of the Roadster watch last year, and this time we got to see the final production model.
The idea behind the Roadster chronograph is to make a minimalist car dashboard dial with a lightweight case (made of F1 materials). The design is very unusual - it is a bullhead case where the pushers are integrated and the aluminum 7 series titanium Grade 5 (TiAl6V4) case has a "spacecraft material" glow to it.
The case 39mm with the height of 13mm. The bullhead case appears to slant from the top to the bottom. The dial has a seconds disc which rotates like the mileage disc on a dashboard. The chronograph functions are in a shape of speedometer sub-dial and a RPM sub-dial. There is small date complication at 4. Overall, it is an interesting concept and execution from a member of AHCI independent watchmakers guild, Mr. Aniceto Jiminez Pita, master watchmaker and other half of Pita Barcelona.
Roadster is available in beginning now for approximately 3,200 euros. You can visit Pita Barcelona here.
