7750 movement acting like it is hacked no matter what stem position

Any ideas? I was in the process of cutting the stem to length and after I put it back in the watch it just stopped working. The balance wheel moves very stiffly as if the watch is hacked, no matter what position the stem is in.

    Thanks,

    Curtis

Have not you heard of a stop lever?

I have, but is it possible that it got stuck in the hacked position?

    Screw-down crown?

You probably cut the stem to short, or the setting lever has jumped its groove.....
