Help with Camy Rallyking timing ring

    Hi
I am working on a 1970's Camy Rallyking and need some guidance on how to remove the stem for setting the elapsed time rotating ring. I would like to remove the stem and crown so I can clean the case properly and check if there is an O ring requiring replacement. I have tried unsuccessfully to hold the wheel, which I can see is pressed on rather than threaded, and unscrew the crown but the force needed is getting on the high side and I don't want to damage anything.

Can anyone please advise if the crown is also threaded and recommend how best to hold the wheel to remove the crown?

    Thanks

Problem solved. With some thinking time it was obvious that the crown had to be threaded so it was a matter of how to grip the crown and hold the gear securely in place while unscrewing the crown.
The crown is 5mm so it fitted nicely into a #50 lathe collet. I turned down some brass rod to fit my staking frame and filed some "teeth" into the end to mesh with the gear and used that to hold the gear while unscrewing the crown with the collet holder. Worked nicely.

Nicely executed...albeit a bit labor intensive...
