This is my first post on this awesome forum after lurking for a few months. Just recently got into some vintage watch collecting and picked up my first piece I'm really proud of- a 40s era Universal Geneve Uni-Compax with their 287 movement. Upon opening the caseback, to my dismay, I noticed a broken minute-recording jumper. In the below pics you'll see the movement sans half of the jumper, along with a picture of the separated piece.
I've already found a guy online with the part in stock, but he's looking for $115, which seems excessive. Are there any other drop-in replacements? Can I JB weld this sucker back together? This will be my first foray into mechanical watch repair, so please forgive my complete lack of knowledge!
Thanks so much for your time!
