Interesting discussion on Tissot T-Gold Scrupture line

This was discussed in the public forum on a $6K Tissot
    https://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/%246...ot-471535.html

Tissot nowadays are stereotyped to be a <$1000 brand, well literally. So a $6K watch will no doubt raise a few eyebrows, even though majority of that price tag goes to the material more than anything else. People just do not associate a few $Ks with Tissot

In any case, that watch in question seems to imbue a design that is quite popular ( as far as the thread goes) but the only-gold case material is shunning everyone away.

If Tissot would garner some alternative feedback on their watches, I thought this would be a great place to voice out

Got them covered physically with the watch range Sean, but alas, not mentally, as anyone spending big bucks on a watch is going to want a high end name to go with it, and due to where SG have positioned Tissot these days, they're not it anymore!!

40/50 or 60 years ago, it was a different story!!

I would have to disagree, based purely on seeing what I'm selling these days. The bulk of the Swiss watch market (at least here in Australia) is spending up to $2000. Obviously we've got a lot of top sellers in the $500 to $1000 range, but models like Le Locle Valjoux, Couturier Valjoux, Sea Touch, etc have greatly increased the average spend for our brand.

Once you go over the $2000 point, it opens up to a number of other brands, however what we're finding is that a lot of consumers have had a Tissot as their "first" watch and are staying loyal to the brand when they want to upgrade.

It's not uncommon to have orders come through for Tissot's in the $5000+ range these days.

    Just food for thought!

Granted... we don't move a lot of solid platinum T Touch

You know what... I read the listing wrong. The solid 18k gold version is AUD$18,225. That would make the platinum version closer to AUD$50,000!!!

I'll check with HO and fin out for sure.

are there really gold and platinum versions of as sporty a watch as the t-touch?...kinda weird...do they sell?..I mean why would anyone buy that?..just wondering!...and I am with Sean on this that I've had such good experience with Tissots that when I upgrade I'd like to have the option to move in Tissot...seriously...but Tissot just needs to market itself as a high-end maker too so
i have the assurance that I am secure in my purchase, in that it will re-sell too and all.

T Touch (only the original 30m version) is available in 18k yellow or rose gold, or solid platinum. All on either bracelet or leather strap.

There are a few floating around, but not many!
