In Basel this year everybody focused on the various smart watch releases that some of the neat releases by Frederic Constant went unnoticed.
Slimline Manufacture Moonphase 38mm
FC listened to some of us who tried on the 42mm slimline moonphase last year and thought it wore a little too big due to its minimal height. I think with release of 38mm, FC resolved that issue (for some of us with slimmer wrists) as well introduced it as a woman’s watch in three variations. All of men’s 38mm are priced south of $4k.
The blue dial released recently with the manufacture movement is stunning. The 42mm case wears slightly smaller. The lumed dots and lumed hands are a nice touch for reading on the plane. It has a bi-color ring for day/night indication and manufacture movement. The navy/dark blue alligator strap compliments this watch very well. Pricing is right around $4k.
Couple of points regarding the smart watch – the watch battery lasts approximately 2.5 years and if there are any future chip upgrade, the owners can send in their watch to their service center and for about $100, get the new generation chip. The single push-button time sync was neat for all the travelers.
