GS SBGA231 Bezel Insert - Steel or Ceramic?

I assumed that the SBGA231 had a ceramic bezel insert, but I wanted to be sure. So, I sent a message to Seiko asking about it. Here is the response I received: "The bezel insert is steel with a black hardcoating treatment."

    Really?

That's my understanding of the bezel as well. Brands are always trying new coatings/techniques. Ceramic is very 'in' right now but I wouldn't be too peeved about this.

It's fair to expect something a little more special here. Some will say that aluminum is more "practical" but, we may as well all only use cheaper quartz watches then.
