Regardless of whether or not you can call a two-year streak a 'tradition,' it's one that we're starting to really look forward to every year, as Grand Seiko has once again unveiled a gorgeous new capsule collection of highly limited USA-exclusive watches at the Couture tradeshow in Las Vegas. Last year, we were presented with the beautiful 'Kira-zuri' watches, but this year is all about the seasons, with four new dials, inspired by each of the four seasons, housed in both steel and titanium cases. We just had a chance to go hands-on with each at the show, and as it stands, 'Summer' is emerging as an early favorite, with its iridescent green and gold – a beautiful, sporty, and rare combination usually reserved for Grand Seiko's JDM models.

Grand Seiko Four Seasons "Winter" SBGA415 (white dial)

Couple of quick things to note about the collection as a whole:

    • Each watch is built using the 40mm 62GS case, yielding a similar execution to the sold-out and highly sought-after SBGA125 from year's past
    • The 9R65 Spring Drive watches (Spring and Winter) are built using titanium cases, and the 9S85 Hi Beat watches are built using stainless steel cases
    • We are expecting the 'Spring' and 'Summer' watches in September, while 'Fall' and 'Winter' are should land in-store one month later in October
    • All four watches are priced the same: $6300

So which 'season' is your favorite? As always, if you have any questions about any of the new Grand Seiko 'Seasons' collection, or about the pre-order process itself, we welcome you to inquire by calling Topper Jewelers at 888-730-2221, or by e-mailing [email protected]. You can also reserve any of these new watches online through Topper’s Pre-Order Central portal here.

There’s no way he’d say on a public forum for so many reasons. Why don’t you call or email?

I thought the Snowflake had a 62GS case but I guess I was wrong. They are nice watches but I’m still waiting for a 38mm springdrive in a 44GS case. At 40mm these are just at my limit of comfort.

    Nice looking.

The green dial is very unique in character.

Hmm... I thought I'd like the winter, but now it seems the dash of pink of Summer is growing on me.

Any idea on how many are going to be made or are these regular releases?
