Owner of two GS, one automatic (SBGR287) and one quartz (SBGV245), with time, as I love the SBGR287, I must admit it was not given wrist time as much as the SBGV245 for pratical reason of the 9F quartz and my life style.
The idea of replace the SBGR287 for a similar designed quartz watch was born.
After some investigation and hesitations between at first a Citizen Chronomaster with a washi dial or a GS SBGX259, I went to several stores and discovered the SBGX295. I always thought it was a 259 on a leather strap but when I compared those side by side, it turned out it was more than a strap/bracelet difference. The 295 has a pretty interesting off white dial. It can appear completely matt under some lightning and slightly satin under other. The 259 dial in comparison is a pure white polar dial. The second big difference is the indexes and the hands. The 295 hands and indexes are darker than GS standard hands and indexes. It creates a very sharp contrast with the dial and a great balance between classical and modern vibes. I ended to fell in love with those pretty unique features and here I am buying my third GS. I might put on sale my beloved SBGR287 soon though.
Here is some pictures:
I put it directly on a dark brown alligator strap:
