A silly question about the SBGK005

I have the SBGA211 and I'm currently trading (up? down?) for the SBGK005. Unfortunately, I can't try it before, so I'm trusting Web pictures.

I'd like to know how blue is the dial in metal, especially in low light conditions, and how reflective is the crystal. I hate glare and I'm not fond of blue dials that look lack indoors.

Any owners willing to help me? Pictures are always welcome.

Firstly this is an upgrade ;)

The domed crystal is reflective but itís not distracting like on a nomos metro I used to have. The definitely shows in all light, not like the 375 which looks black in dark lighting. Itís a mt Iwate dial so if youíve experienced those dials itís very similar as far as light reflecting is concerned.

Thanks, Masse! I guess I'm taking the plunge.

Itís an awesome watch. I have 6 grand seikoís, none are snowflakes. Not to knock the snowflake itís just that I feel they more interesting pieces, this one included.

My only criticism is the strap. Itís a wonderful strap but itís too dressy for daily wear. Swapping it out soon with a grey horween soon. Will post pics when I receive it but I feel itíll dress it down for daily wear status. And the OEM strap is great for formal occasions. A very versatile piece!!

    Enjoy!

I find that it is more blue-grey indoors/low light, but when the right light hits it, that blue comes alive. So it does change quite a bit. Also, the indices really reflect light, which I love.

I would consider it an upgrade and hopefully you will enjoy it.

    Good luck.

I don't think you will regret getting a SBGK005. The slim case size is very refreshing for a GS and not much needs to be said about the dial which hasn't already been said.

I had one. Very lovely dial, doesn't reflect too much. Mt Iwate dial is very beautiful.

If you want something sporty though, you won't like this one, its more for formal/smart wear

Thanks, Nokie! Can you explain why you think that? Is it because of the movement? Is the finishing superior in this one?

The size is one of the main points for me: I'm trying to reduce my watches to less than 40mm as I'm considering 38-40mm my sweet spot. Thanks for your picture too!

I'm so glad to read that as it's precisely what I want!

I shipped my Snowflake today. It should take some time before the SBGK005 is finally on my wrist, but I'll update this thread.
