I have had this watch for almost a year. However, in order to get the wrist time it deserves, I have found myself trying out many straps / bracelets. This watch, which is 47mm, wears rather tall. At first all was well with the OEM rubber strap. However, after a week or so I noticed that the strap would slip and start undoing itself. So, I decided a variety of different straps, but could not find one that would fit well and that would look good. The watch wears tall and when it is on a strap it looks funny.
I decided to try the strap from another watch I have, a Bulova Snorkel. I swapped the mesh bracelet on that one because I did not like the look of the mesh on that model. I placed it on this one and for some reason I really like how it looks. The mesh seems to visually provide the strength to hold on to the watch. (BTW, since the mesh is from Bulova, I guess the watch is arguably still on OEM bracelet) You will be the judge as you look at the pictures below. If there are any recommendations on successful alternatives, I would love to hear them.
In terms of features, this watch has one of the best lume applications I have seen. You can tell in one of the wrist shots that the lume can be seen in daylight. Its very powerful. I like the combination of green and blue and also like the fact that the lume is also applied to the 60 marker on the bezel.
The watch has what appears to be black coated SS on the ends and on the bezel. It helps slim the watch down, but not by much. A feature I really like is the blue second hand and the cardinal markers. One feature that I do not like is that this watch feels heavier than I imagined. If you don’t like heavier watches, then this one is likely not for you.
I hope now that I have it on this new strap that I will get to wear it more often. Time will tell…
