Can anyone give any information on this Mulco?

    Hi all,

I have been lurking on the boards for a couple of weeks now and thought it was time to join and do my first post.

    A while back a picked up this Mulco;

It is smallish in size and has fixed pins. On the back, it is marked STAHLBODEN and underneath looks like the numbers 116, although these look like they have been sanded/ filed off for some reason. The mech is marked A.S. 1130.

Does anyone have any information on this watch, who would have used it, how old it is etc? I am very interested to know a little more about it.

    Thanks for your time.

    Benner

    Welcome to the forum, Benner!

An unusual watch ... the dial is a B-Uhren Baumuster B pattern, the movement would be a WWII movement, but the dial pattern never came with a small second.
    Cheers,

    Martin ("Crusader")

It most likely is a Military watch with that movement, I would guess it was a battlefield find that needed a re-dial, however its been given the wrong re-dial as Crusader said. It should look like this:

Does it have any markings ie "D12345H" on the caseback?
Was the seller from Russia or Ukraine?

Maybe a perfect candidate for a redial? The "real" Mulco looks good!

The only number I have is what looks like 116 but this is very difficult to see as it looks like someone has tried to remove it.

I believe the seller was from Russia.

That speaks volumes, they often doctor up civilian watches to look like military. What they have done here though is created a watch that didnt exist at all.....
I would have it re-dialed as a DH field watch, it may have actually been one, the movement is correct and Mulco did supply the German army. Post war many peolple ground off the mil markings or replaced the caseback thinking it added value...

    Thanks for your replies.

Would a dial restoration be cost effective do you think? I have no ideas as to the cost, but I imagine it wouldn't be cheap.
