Last year I asked for advice on this forum about an Accutron Astronaut I had received. I had no idea if the watch could be salvaged.
Many forum members responded and Rob Berkavicius's name surfaced. I tried a battery and found the old hummer still hummed, but not a happy tune. What followed was an assessment from Rob and a list of what might be required in order to bring the watch back to life. I made the decision to rely on his judgement and go ahead with the work that would be required. He provided costs and timelines that would be necessary and in the process he was right on.
The dial had to be sent away from Rob in order to be redone. Everything else was in his hands and he kept me in the loop so I knew what was happening.
I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Rob's expertise is extraordinary, and his ability to communicate effectively with someone who has a lot of questions and few answers surprised me. I want to thank him for his work on this forum, and thank WUS for encouraging me to go ahead with getting this little gem restored.
