    Band For 1964 Bulova Engineer?

I have this Bulova Engineer that needs a band, however, the lugs are so short that there's not enough room between the case and the springbars. I can barely slide a sheet of paper between the case and upper bar but the lower bar is actually touching. How did the original band attach and is there a replacement that can work?

The original band would have ether been a straight end metal band or a metal band with a short flush end link

I would look into a gold colored mesh band with a straight ends.

    That will fit fine

Hi JourneyForce, interested in your Skyhawk. As far as this watch goes, try curved springbars, they sell them on Amazon and eBay.

I would almost bet that these used the very thin spring bars. You may still be able to find some vintage bars on the bay.

Wow, thanks for all the responses. I didn't know about the thin and curved bars. It turns out Esslinger has them so I'll add them to my next order. That way I can get both leather and metal bands to work.

I got impatient so I decided to bend the springbars myself and it actually worked! I got a 16mm leather band to work and also a Twist-O-Flex with straight ends. Apparently the original band had curved ends so I might keep my eyes open for one of those. The leather strap is dressy and elegant while the expansion band makes it look very retro. I'm not sure which I like better!

Looks nicer on the leather, but looks more like something an engineer would wear on the expansion.
