I like some of the Meccaniche Veneziane watches. I just can't get past the somewhat questionable call of labeling some of their movements as "Swiss" when they're clearly Chinese ebauches. Nothing against Chinese movements but I do have something against a lack of transparency.
EDIT: apparently, the watch referenced above uses a 2824.

Panerai is not well known outside the WUS community in any case.
The proliferation of "vintage" or "old tritium" lume is a recent popular dial design element and, unlike Panerai, is now visible in department stores.
Regardless, my point is that the popularity of "vintage" anything (watches, furniture, muscle cars, clothes, etc.) is a recent thing which IMO makes it part and parcel of a fashion trend. Maybe it will fade, maybe it won't. We'll see.
Just my $0.02 as always.
As far back as I can remember, vintage has always been a thing. What changes is what vintage items are popular at the moment.
