    Best watches under $300

A friend asked me to post: she is looking to purchase a watch for her husband. This will be their first married Christmas. Her budget is $200-$300. He is a casual guy who likes sports, but is always in style. Any good recommendations? Sentimental pieces that fit that range?

I just think at that price range a seiko samurai or turtle is the best bet. If sentimental, perhaps design your own watch at undone watches.

Shop Seiko as suggested above. Add Orient to the list. Voila!

I hate to be “that guy”, but if she could push the budget to 400, she could grab a Hamilton field watch. That sounds like it’s up his ally.

Like others have said if she can raise it to $400 the Seiko Sarb033 is a classic.

Look at the new, SKX- inspired line-up from Seiko called “Seiko 5 Sports” (Macy’s has them discounted); as far as sentimental, goes - it’s up to them to attribute that to whatever piece is chosen.

She could look at the selection of Bertucci quartz field watches, such as the Bertucci A-2T Original Classics going for $180.

I agree. She would be able to buy a few solid watches for another $100. I also agree with the others. Seiko has some nice offerings. Particularly, the Seiko Sarb017 and Sarb033. They’re 38mm. Depending on the size of her husband’s wrist, they might be perfect. She also can’t go wrong with a Hamilton field watch. There’s quite a few models out there.

Yeah, Hamilton Field Mechanical. 330.00 You could go with a SARB 033, 035 for a bit more, but that Hammy was my first thought too.
