I’m seeking some guidance from the all knowing Brotherhood. And I know I could google and read and look at pictures and guess. BUT, I value the input here.

If I were to try to use our latest run of BSH dials (black no date) which hands, case, bezel insert, crystal would yield me the most accurate homage to that dial design?

My own solution to the book dilemma is to go electronic on most everything and just keep the really really favorites and heirloom books in one bookcase. I really love having my entire library with me at all times on my Kindle Paperwhite.

Here's a BSHT post challenge (no prize, just for general interest): Following Sonic's lead, give us a list of your bare essentials. Not only necessities, but those things that help make life a little more enjoyable for you. Here's mine:

    1. AeroPress Coffee Maker, French Roast, and a mug.
    2. A Sub and a G-Shock.
    3. Jeans, polo, boxers, crew socks, belt, and boots.
    4. Eyeglasses and Norelco shaver.
    5. Daybag with Chromebook, Kindle, Moleskine, Pen, Highlighter, Earbuds, and USB Flash Drive.
    6. EDC: Money-Band, Keys, iPhone, Chotki.
    7. A six-pack of Yuengling and a bottle of Irish whiskey.
    8. Cordless drill, hammer, channel-lock pliers, Leatherman, and a roll of watch tools.
    9. And a CPAP. (Because sleep apnea will kill you!)

What's on your list of Life Essentials?
I was really intrigued by your "List of Life Essentials" question James. And traveling as much as I do and living out of a suitcase for a week at a time has really made me realize just how little one needs to live and be happy. So, with that in mind, and also with the idea of downsizing to fit my life into an RV someday, here's my list.

    1) I'm in on the AeroPress coffee maker as well. I received one as a gift from one of my sons this past Christmas, and really love it. Of course I need a quick way to heat the water, so I think an electric temperature controlled tea kettle is the way to go. Oh, and a burr hand coffee grinder, my Starbuck's coffee mug, and a stainless steel travel mug.

    2) On the clothing side, I'd go with a couple of pairs of jeans, a pair of cargo shorts, 5 polo shirts, 5 button down shirts, a black and brown belt, black socks, black and brown dress shoes, and a pair of Nike running shoes. And a light jacket.

    3) Instead of trying to trim my watch collection down to just 2, I'm gonna go with one or maybe two 6 place watch rolls and fill up all the spaces. The MKII Kingston will be there, as well as the NTH Näcken Modern Black, the NTH Oberon, and a Timex Ironman Triathlon. The rest of the spaces are more or less up for grabs. Also, add to this a collection of leather and NATO straps in order to keep things fresh, and some watch tools.

    4) Ahh, books! Like many of you, I love 'em, but I prefer reading the paper kind instead of a Nook or Kindle. But in order to continue to read paper books and downsize too, I need to start selling them when I'm done instead of keeping them on the shelf like a trophy. A place like Half-Price Books will be my friend.

    5) Contacts, their associated care products, and reading glasses.

    6) My smartphone, charger, cable, and earbuds.

    7) General tolitries, medications, electric toothbrush, and Norelco shaver.

    8) EDC: Keys, Pocket knife (I currently carry a Buck), nail clippers, a cheap Bic ballpoint pen, small spiral notebook, and a Chapstick.

    9) Tools. In order to keep an RV running, I'll need a reasonably well stocked tool box. It will need to include a socket set, open end wrench set, Philips and standard screwdrivers, Allen wrenches, hammer, cordless drill, drill bits, bit drivers, etc.

    10) At least one bicycle, and maybe two. If I had to pare it down to just one, it would probably be a cyclocross bike for versatility. If I get to keep two, then add my Bacchetta Strada as well. And a couple of pairs of cycling shorts, jerseys, and a single pair of Shimano SPD compatible cycling shoes. And an air pump.

    11) In the alcohol department, a 12 pack of Surly Furious IPA makes me happy. Not all at once of course. Most of the time, a 12 pack lasts me at least a week.

So there's my list. Let's see if we can keep this going.
