But, I want a reasonably good quality, reasonably priced submariner homage - hense the "Affordable" subredit. $800 CAD for a submarine homage, with a japanese movement, while getting pissed on for asking why - well, that isn't affordable, but that's debateable.

Lets wait and see what the NTH mockup looks like, what's proposed, and go from there. Maybe in the meanwhile, instead of a bunch of "brothers" ganging up to shoot .... on the "30 post guy", you could take a minute to explain WHAT MAKES THE ....ING NTH SO ....ING GOOD.
I’ll bite. Read the review I wrote about it at wristwatchreview. Then you’ll know why it’s as good as it is.

It seems you’ve already made your decision... you find the Barracuda overpriced, a cheap ho in an expensive dress I think you called it. You already made up your mind that the Miyota can’t be as good as a Swiss movement, and you already know the costs of everything so what’s there to argue about?

Aside from Victor’s review, there’s 25 other BSH 3000+ post threads you can read up on. Any and likely every form of sub homage has been discussed there from AliEx mushrooms to Zodiacs.

There are countless NTH threads in F71. An entire thread devoted to comparing why the Miyota is equal to or better than the venerable 2824. You u want one? That’s great, but it’s not up to us to convince you it’s a good deal.

Not one of us owes anything to an absolute newbie who shows up out of nowhere throwing all kinds of tired shade that hed KNOW was unwelcome if he bothered to spend a few minutes familiarizing himself with the vibe of the place. Its Part 26, fella, take a clue from that simple fact and be a bit more respectful instead of supposing WE owe YOU a dang thing, much less an explanation for why WE want Chris to build us an LE based on a watch WE value.

Its not about how many dollars are in your pocket; its about how much sense is in your head.

Come in here cold looking to buy into an LE without even bothering to hang around a minute. Sheesh.

I will just leave this here for WEW. Just having dinner now.

    No subs. Only Seiko.

And btw, great show last night.

I am also in for the gilt project (s). Dial or the whole watch.

Finally! and thank you. I appreciate it more - the description and close up photo of the Näcken's lumed indicies provided more insight. I appreciate the link. The comparison and inspiration's for NTH to Tudor and Rolex helps as well, to where the homage cues come from.

Also thanks to whoever it was for the ignore list idea. What a great function to weed out the rude and douchy.

Hey man I get it. Maybe this is your thing you do when you meet new people. Come off a bit strong and feel you have to play catch up. A word of advice from me, Chill brah... They good peeps yo.

I consider myself a noob at this hobby. I year and a half ago I laughed at people paying more then $150 for a time piece, and that is in Canadian funds.

I am not sure how I found this awesome little place in the barren wasteland that is the Intrawebs. I am happy I did thou because for a bunch of well versed, incredibly likeable, and amazing intelligent people. They are very quick to accept people who know crap about their beloved hobby. I was in a couple of low places and had/have a low post count as well. They welcomed me and a few even reached out with their own personal numbers letting me know I was not alone.

Who accepts people with open arms they do not know and have themselves not doubt been burned by unknown peeps but continue to give a helping hand. The "Brotherhood" does and it is more then just a liking of watches. Do you have any idea how many times strangers come into the thread and ask for help? Random posters asking "Where is that strap from?" or just want to see what we are about.

I own 3 NTH watches and REALLY want more. They are incredible to wear and easy to fall in love with. It might be a good idea to see if you might live near an upcoming Get To Gether to perhaps get your hands on a NTH because you really do owe it too yourself.

I am sorry if I may have offended you in anyway. It might be a good idea and just hang around for a few pages just to see how the BSHT work. You might just find that this is not just about watches, but about caring for people and the lives we all live. I am not a well spoken, English major writer. I am just a normal dude that wants to learn about this hobby.

    You’re welcome.

And that feature is pretty much never used here. I had forgotten it even existed here. These people are the most generous, kind people I know. They pull together and support each other through the worst kinds of events life brings.

Instead of all this upset and abrasiveness, consider showing some of the kindness you’ve got there.
