Ever have that dream where you are walking around naked in public? Friday evening after a long day working, I jumped in the bath. Current work watch came off and was placed aside. Saturday rolled on and it was quite late in the evening that I noticed I had been out and about without a watch all day! Oh the shame, the horror! I was mortified

Well now I discover it was all part of mission training for our Nosub 3 expedition

Have a great Sunday Brothers everywhere

    Made the jump.

I'll be making a detour to the one of the moons of the Nosub system. Have heard there's a watch in the making there that has my interest. Seems the maker has a distant memory of these creatures named divers, but the interpretation from mythical beast to mechanical timepiece spasmed along the way, so there's no timing bezel or lume. But it's nickel free, and I must have it!

The journey to this moon is not without risk, we're going into uncharted territory. The inexperienced navigator assures me we'll have the piece back by May, but I'm putting my money on July to avoid disappointment. Fingers crossed we make it back in a glorious clown cloud rather than the mushroom variety.

    Wish me luck!

And he said, let there be something that looks like a Black Bay Red

He looked upon the wannabe Tudor and saw that it was good. He had put the heart of a Black Bay inside with an eta elabore movement. Then he adjusted it with care so it would run as well or better than the $3500.00 watch.

He looked upon the face and was pleased as he had made it in the image of the creators name.

Because there was no date window he didn't know how long the creation took but he shrugged and said, it is what it is.

As time went on the creation changed, different straps, even a bezel change.

I'm going to order one of the Strap Code Black Bay bracelets with the curved end links and hope that it fits correctly. If that works I may put the red bezel back on and hang out in the airport lounges so people think I have a Tudor watch because that's what homage types do.
Love the salmon fly hook on the dial.

Was pretty busy this weekend and when finally done and relaxing I noticed that #32 was kind of quiet. Now I know. Made the jump to #33 with my BSH BB.

Welcome to our mission to Nosub 3, Ard. We're glad you were able to join us.

I may have told you this before, but your Steets homage to the Black Bay was one of the watches I fell in love with when I first joined WUS several years ago. And believe it or not, that was before I even knew what a gen Black Bay was. I'm sure the natives of Nosub 3 will appreciate it as much as I do. You will certainly be considered royalty on our away missions to the planet's surface. Be prepared to be mobbed.

Well thank you very much! That's the smaller camp hatchet of the matched pair that I made for myself. It's just a little one with a 1 & a half pound head and there's a 4lb head version with a full handle and a similar stain and paint job on it.

I do make them for people, and usually they get to pick what style head they want if I can find it, what style handle they want me to carve them, and what colors and patterns I use to finish it. It's a pretty gratifying process, similar to taking a watch like an 8926ob and turning it into something special.
