Re: Dan Henry 1963, Heuer homage

I agree with the general sentiments about the watch. Very good and not just for the money. Now you tell me why if I add a $400 7750 movement to this it would cost $2000+. Nonsense! Attractive high quality watches like this could be made all the time for a reasonable price. Nice job Dan Henry.
Now how about something like this?

It looks big but is not too big really. Photos of watches are so misleading. Looks better on the plain Maratac Zulu.

Does anyone with a large wrist own the 1963? I read from 1 poster that it 'wears small'. Any other input on how it wears (larger or smaller)? I don't need a tank on my wrist, but at my height and wrist-size, I can't pull off a small-to-medium look.

Re: Dan Henry 1963, Heuer homage

It wears bigger than my TSAR and about the same as my C60. It feels like a 42mm watch much more than a 44. Not small but depending on the strap, it can feel large. It sits a little tall but I have been wearing a Glycine Combat lately so....those are pretty thin for 42mm. I like the strap very much but I do wish it tapered down to 20mm at the buckle as that would make it a bit less bulky. My favorite straps for it, to make it feel most wearable, are thin single pass Zulu/RAF straps from Timefactors. They just fit soooo well.

The only thing I would change would be a tapered strap & a hand wind mvmnt. Overall I love it. The quartz is almost sweeping, bezel is Bi directional.Lume is ok. I'm a happy camper.
I agree about the strap? I changed it for a Crown and Buckle tapered and it looks better.

I'm not a fan of the lume, it's pretty crappy but the color is nice. I was surprised that the bezel only had 12 clicks, but that's just a design choice. The chrono is nice, smooth.

Overall the watch is a real looker and a great deal

I agree swapped mine out as well. The lume is no Buenos as far as lasting. The bezel only 12 clicks so you can you use it as a GMT & I love the Bi directional too.
I noticed that if you let the seconds hand run it automatically stops @ 12 but haven't timed how long it stays running b4 stopping. Any ideas gents? Enlighten me
