Wink This was going to be My Christmas Watch..........

Black Heimdallr Sharkey NH35A Automatic 200M Diver Watch SKX007 Homage Sapphire

I was thinking about getting myself one of these, but whilst searching for a deal I came across this Seiko, that I bought

But I still can get the "Sharkey" for about £120, but I could get hit with import taxes and VAT, so around 20% plus so then not a really cheap watch any more

So any thoughts? Should I just sit on my hands and be happy? Bid for another Seiko I have seen for auction, or given the budget, less than say £150 ($200 US) any suggestions?

I am in an "Automatic" mood at present, but this may change tomorrow, next week or by the weekend, so any mad wild-cards consider.

Today I have this on my wrist

But Yesterday I was wearing this............ So my watch mood changes with the weather.

So anything you like to suggest...........

I happen to like the Heimdallr Sharkey SKX -- have a 6105 homage on the way to me now, matter of fact.

But since you just picked up the other one, what's the rush? Maybe see if you can track down a European seller while you enjoy your other watches?

Mrs-ish mconlonx just snagged another watch of mine for her personal use, so I stole her SNXS77 -- fair is fair, after all. Lovely, completely underrated watch.

I personally prefer to have the name brand on the dial. The heritage does it for me. That being said when there is an homage of something I like that I can't afford, I get over that brand not being on the dial pretty quickly. In your case I'd keep the Seiko but it's a tough call.

Coming from Blighty just like you I know how VAT and couriers fees can bump the price of a watch up so I tend to frequent UK sellers where there is no extra VAT to pay or “admin” fees to add on to the price.

You can buy with all the fees paid from many sellers on Fleabay from the US, and I use a Dealer in Singapore who Ships to the EU tax paid too. But the Chinese stuff is a bit of a lottery..........

    1. My SNZH had a misaligned bezel. I loved it otherwise.
    2. I have only had one Heimdallr. The pilot. I was very unimpressed. The hands were misaligned and were a plastic looking blue. I would buy San Martin over Heimdallr.

OK, so I Bin and gone and dun it again

It woz de drink wot dun it

So New Years Eve, and I is Browsing Yon Fleabay, 'cos the Idiot Tube is sh1t as bloody usual, so I has a silly Snipe Bid on something and depart to my bed to listen to the damn fireworks 'till 2am!

So bleary eyed this morning I have a quick check and only find that I WON with a very low bid, and even then it did not go to my limit! That bodes well for this year.......... Or the watch is gonna be total crap!

    So I paid the bill.................

    Order total

    Subtotal £ 114.00
    Postage £ 3.48
    Total £ 117.48

Not bad at all, less that I was going to pay for the SKX007 clone

So here come the requisite Piccies, grabbed of the eBay listing...

Should get it by or shortly after the Weekend I am either going to be very happy, or there will be an eBay claim. Yes, so it is YASD, "aka Yet Another Seiko Diver", but I like Divers and I like Seiko Watches. And for that money? Well, the impact of last evening on the Booze Store is going to cost me about three times that to replenish! I did not know we knew so many people with Hollow Legs

So, the "I missed out on my Christmas Watch" Story is getting a bit thin now :-

    Current Hard Dun By Score:

Orient Flight Mens 42mm Japan Movement Blue Dial Watch - Nice Watch, crap folded bracelet, replacement leather rally style strap ordered!

SEIKO SNZH53J BLUE DIAL AUTOMATIC WATCH MADE IN JAPAN - S/H eBay find, but hardly if ever worn, fitted with a decent leather strap, that i was going to change, but it is growing on me................... And I got the unused stock bracelet too.

Then the eBay win today, but I am still not getting any sympathy from the Mem Sahib

Hope you all have a Healthy and Successful 2020.
    Very Best Regards
    Jim
