Help me find an expanded date window watch.

For a long time I've been looking for a watch with an expanded date window. No chrono or sub dials, just a clean uncluttered dial. It doesn't matter if it's a mechanical or quartz. And preferably under 150usd. Any ideas?

The Seiko SUR023 might be worth a look.

What I meant by expanded date is the day before and after is visible in the window.

Some Seiko Automatic 5 <Sports> SRP watches have this, including 615, 617, 645, 706 and some older models (the latter have more clear dials).

That's a somewhat common feature in pilot watches, sometimes referred to as an altimeter-like date display. The IWC mark xvii which has this often criticized feature however is out of your price range. :( But I am almost certain that some cheaper pilots have copied this feature, so perhaps try posting in the military and pilots watch subforum?

I am also fairly sure that some Seiko 5 Sports have that feature. There is a great website for browsing Seiko 5: http://www.watchsleuth.com/seiko5finder/

The Seiko Pilot srp617 for example has the altimeter date and no subdials, though the design may be busier than you like.

Out of curiosity, why are you looking for this feature? Do you find it makes the date easier to read?

Yes I think it would be easier to read with my eyesight. For example, if it's the 26th I could see the 25 and 27 on each side instead of wondering if it's the 26th or 28th.

In that case, why not also look for watches with a larger, two part date like the first seiko posted? As a third option, there are watches with a larger but traditional date wheel, like the Oris ProPilot Date, which I bought for that reason amongst others, and whose date is significantly more legible, but also out of your price range.

If you want a watch that shows where you've come from and where you are going to the Union that Sussa recommended is very nice indeed.
