Hit me with your affordable chronos

My collection needs an affordable chrono. I can get a Bulova for 96B251 for $400 right now, but I just couldn't get excited about it enough to pull the trigger. I realized I was mainly looking at filling a gap in my collection, not necessarily to do anything with the watch itself. That watch itself at least has a bit of history to it (without being a Speedy Pro), so maybe not a bad choice.

What else exists in the 44-42 size range, Under $1k, well-built, with at least anti-reflective treatment on the crystal (the Bulova mentioned above as AR sapphire)?

    For comparison, my current collection:
    Hamilton Khaki Field Auto
    Omega AT
    Seiko SKX173
    Casio G-Shock Rangeman
Some other smaller G-Shock I can't recall the model number of
    ZM-73 and 7750wobble like this.

Victorinox Maverick Chronograph. Under $100 when on sale. Thick sapphire crystal and 100mm WR. I like mine.

    or

Timex Sierra Expedition, very resilient and rugged, all for around $55-$70 if you shop around.

    (comes in multiple varieties)

With honorable mention for the VSA Chrono Classic XLS, although that's a hair over 44mm.

The first is a Wenger GST. They're out of production, but tick all your boxes. You can find them pre-owned on the bay from time to time, and come on a very comfortable solid bracelet with divers extension clasp. Usually for 300-600 USD.

The other is a Wancher Storm Jet, which has sapphire but no AR, but it is still a lovely SS case, handwind Seagull. And around $250

I tried keeping a list of watches, but it changes too fast to keep track. I have issues

Look at the Russian 3133 watches, such as Strela.

You can also find affordable options from Hamilton. Pan Europ Chrono comes to mind. Has been as low as $600 at Ashford (I believe).

Microbrands have been offering some mechanical chronographs in your range. Look at Straton.
