Re: My Small Collection So Far

This thread is awesome. I actually enjoyed college quite a bit. I did the whole Fraternity thing and always had plenty of fun. I went to a fairly large school in the South. I did not however feel the need to drink to excess. One or two was all I needed. Your mileage may vary. I liked college so much I stuck around and went to another pretty large Southern School and earned a Masters Degree. That means nothing here, but I was accused of not enjoying college properly, whatever the hell that means. I guess the point of college is no longer to study, earn a degree and hopefully earn a good job. But, hey, I did it almost twenty years ago. I guess times change! sharc1 out.

If the Seiko SKX007 is too big you could try the SKX013 which is the same watch with a slightly smaller case (38mm).

The SKX173 was always my favorite.

I'm so torn between the Seiko 5 and SKX013 maybe perhaps get both?

Congratulations - you have become a watch collector! That is true watch collector logic at work!

I say go for it! (Of course, this is usually my response in such matters...) Which Seiko 5 are you thinking of? And I would suggest getting the metal bracelet for the SKX013, and maybe a rubber one, too.

What is your budget again? Anyways, I think this is an awesome start!

And I don't know if you're considering a Seiko Monster at all, but the most recent iteration comes with a pretty cool movement, the 4R36, that is an improvement over the 7S26 which comes in a lot of watches. It hacks and handwinds and is also automatic - quite impressive at this price:

Seiko SRP313K1 "New Monster" Dive Watch Review | aBlogtoWatch

Seiko 4R36 -The Family In Brief - Watch Reviews, Info and Musings

This Seiko 5 also has the 4r36 powering it - handsome watch:

    4R36 Seiko 5 Military – SRP275K | Yeoman's Watch Review

Some other models may have this as well - I think Stargate? Another pretty cool Seiko 5:

And more options (but man, the military Seiko 5 is really looking like a winner!):

I REALLY love this style of the Seiko 5
    SRP415K1

Really like the dial, red second hand, and the day date. It's automatic with hand winding to. What do you think.

Looks great! It has the superior 4R36 movement, and I must say, the wrist shot in this review here looks FANTASTIC/INCREDIBLE:

Go for it!!!! 41mm is a nice size, too. Very, very cool, and a lot of watch for the price.

    Nice Duo you have there.
There is a collection thread - where people post their collections. Dunno where. Do a search.

This is most of my collection and some dupes between the photos:

and this is what I started off with - most of them were not working
