Thumbs Down Phoibos 300m Diver PX002C - very disappointing

    Hi all,

As I have the Phoibos Eagle Ray and am generally really pleased with it for an affordable watch, I decided to go for their version of the Pro Diver (PX002C). I bought this as a gift for someone and it hasn't been out of the packaging since it arrived. For £100, I figured it would be a decent enough looking alternative to the Invicta Pro Diver, albeit a quartz.

So, imagine my extreme disappointment when I opened the package yesterday and removed the plastic covering the head to look properly at it. The photos speak for themselves and thankfully I have arranged a return and full refund from Amazon. I'm afraid this is my last Phoibos because a fault like this should never pass QC, assuming there is any.

Here's the marketing shot from Amazon, followed by two pictures of the actual dial of the one I bought. Misalignment this bad is a dealbreaker every time! I don't think I need comment further...

At the price paid, I would live with it

I agree that it looks bad and I would have returned it too but wouldn't judge the whole company's QC based on just one example. Even high end manufacturers make errors occasionally not to mention about Seiko whose misalignment issues are almost a rule and not an exception.

I know, you're right and it's no worse than what I've seen on the likes of Seiko. I think it's more my frustration coming in the post than anything else really, especially because it's a gift and timing is tight now trying to return it and find something else. I should have checked it a little closer when it arrived instead of assuming it would be ok.

It's pain free returns with Amazon, so no drama in that respect. I couldn't give someone a gift of a watch with a fault like that, even a cheap one.

I’ve got worse. And guess what? It’s a Seiko.

    Hold my beer...

Tapatalk is all natural. Wash in cold water and tumble dry on low heat. Some talk shrinking may occur.
This used to be my signature, but now it's just this generic drawing of a watch.
