Real Russian Diver watch Affordable Pics

I found this guys site while trolling Ebay. He has a bunch of them. 260 grams not inclusing the Bracelet (SUPER HEAVY). Only hand wound. No radiation.
What I find funny is that Invicta wants $ 600 for a COPY and the Tauchmeister
type copy wants around $ 100. This one is REAL and is decnt price. I think I will get two so both wristes get even muscle tone. A REAL conversational peice.

To be fair, the Invicta has an incredible decorated and skeletonized Unitas movement.

Pic borrowed from Kurt Adler (incredible photography).

Too be fair, its not 600.00 worth of decoration or skeletonization, I've seen much better for less money on the unitas before. It's still a nice looking watch but they would have been better served to just put the base unitas movement in it with a solid back and sold it for a better price point.

besides I don't quite understand the the need for a 600.00 homage of a watch that is easily available in large quantities for under 200.00 ea and closer to 100.00 ea in bulk.

Dear Bronze watches, I'm Just not that in to you, it's not me it's you, your stinky, and tarnished and look like crap and I'm not falling for your lack of charm.

Let it be known I would never pay $600 for the Invicta, I was merely pointing out the watch is more of a show piece with a decorated movement which I'm sure accounts for some of the cost differential.

    260 grams = 9.17123011 ounces

That's more than a half-pound of watch on your wrist. Crikey.

I ddin't notice - did it say what the Lug width was? That strap looks DREADFUL, so I'd like to know I could find a strap wide enough to replace it. Otherwise, I'm in!

Re: Real Russian Diver watch Affordable Pics

None of the advertisements mention the lug with. I did find the depth rating from another guy 700 meters. If you do a search on Ebay for "russain Diver Watch" many sellers will come up with the same watch. If it is so rare then why are there so many? I am not confident it is a real authentic watch and it may be a sort of replica type of a watch that was made in 1970. However, the pics show some tarnish or rust color on the watches. I guess you would expect it on a 30 year old watch. My feeling it is a conversation peice and not meant for diving. It really should be listed under CLOCKS !!!!:-D Hee Hee
