    Picture SCHAFFER "Bentling"

I don't know why, the 80s' are over , but I suddenly wanted a Breitling homage. I wanted something shiny & complicated

I got this Breitling for Bentley homage for the fun. I paid the impressive price of 3,33 € (and 30$ for the shipping )

    The inspiration :

    (not my pic)

A few things before the pics :

The brand is SCHAFFER, it's the first watch I have from this brand. It's incredibly unexpensive.

I have mitigated feelings about this watch : it reaches its goal (having a fun blingy watch), but the general quality is inferior to the previous homages I've purchased for the last years. Then again for the price…

The general quality is low. The watch is HUGE (50mm) but it feels light. The bracelet is strange : it seems to have solid links, but I wonder if it's some sort of alloy, because it's light

The look is really close to the original (case shape, bracelet, dial…) but I suspect the quality gap is abyssal

The case could be stainless steel, but for the size of the watch, one would expect a much heavier weight.
The cristal could be mineral glass ; there's a scratch on it

The bezel rotates (both direction) ; I have absolutely no clue if the side rule is functional or not

Subdials & pushers are functional (regular multifunction) :
    • Date @ 3h
    • 24h mode @ 6h
    • Day @ 9h

Unboxing : a small box, not very high quality

    The watch :

The HUGE scratch on the glass :

The end link is hollow, on the pics, it looks as if it was a different colour, but it's not

    The clasp :

    Unsigned crown :

    Dial :

    Side rule :

    Back :

    More pics :

    Size comparison :

    Wristshots of the beast :

Thanks James Well, it's not that bad, actually
After a few hours on the wrist, I kinda like it.

It'll be a fun watch, which is OK, after all

Finally, the light weight isn't such a bad thing... the watch isn't so present on the wrist...

That's B'ling if I ever saw it. Congrats, Reno. Enjoy that beast.
Homage watches democratize history for the common wrist.

    Cheers! James

    Thanks Fullers, I'll do

Actually, that's kinda weird, but I REALLY begin to appreciate this look… could it be possible that after 20 years, I'd feel again the Breitling's attraction ?
