    Seagull 1963. Need some advice

    Hello,

I have read through the older forum posts on the Seagull 1963 and decided to add one in my collection.
I read about finding some sellers on eBay and a few retailers in the USA as well. It would be really helpful if anybody in this forum could share their experience about purchasing one while in China or through Taobao.

If the prices on the pic are correct then it seems extremely cheap... which is equivalent for me to - fake/not original.
Please go to a Chinese Forum - https://forums.watchuseek.com/f72/
and you'll find a list of legit sellers who does have a good reputation.
Regarding the question about TaoBao - here is one of the sellers that discussed on Chinese Forum who have a good reputation and sells on TaoBao:

    Good luck!

Things can go wrong with any chronograph movement. The fact that it is Chinese is moot.

ST1901 is notoriously flakey. That's why it's important that hked essentially services the movements (as I understand it) of the watches prior to selling them.

Nioe. The problems with these movements are well documented. I can think of 2 microbrand owners that used them then said they would never use them again because of the proportionally high amount of returns and complaints from buyers.

I’d source my 1963 from someone like Long Island Watch to make use of Marc’s good reputation.
