The Swiss may have Cantons, but they are NOT Cantonese!

Chinese affordable watches with dubious Swiss text.

(The old Chinese province of Canton is now Guangdong Province, the epicenter of Chinese watchmaking, including the mega cities of Shenzhen and Guangzhou.)

The 'autoumatic' on the Burei is sort of phonetic...

I actually kind of like most of the designs, although they are hardly original. But why on earth would they put “Swiss Made” on that? That’s definitely a deal breaker for me, I’d have appreciated it more if it’s “Made in China” instead. Things like spelling errors will also deter me from buying, there’s no way I would wear a watch that says “autoumatic” on the dial.

And the brand names, why do they sound very gibberish? Benyar, Burei, Didun Design, Agelocer.....smh.

OK, so I admit that I did not sleep too well so this morning I am Grumpy, more than usual

But thinking about this I have the thought that over the past year the descriptions and quality, or not, of Chinese watches has deteriorated? While the prices seem to have gone up?

    Or is it my imagination?

    Best regards,
    Jim

Back in the day my local city of Sheffield was world famous for making cutlery and rumour had it that the Japanese built a place called Sheffield just so they could stamp their knives “made in Sheffield”

And Sticky, Please look after my youngest daughter who decided to make your fine City her home after Uni.

Lets hope that Jim's head gets better and Mr Grumpy gets some sleep.
