Thank you and the rest of the thread for thinking of my feelings.

I read your reply, laughed out loud and hit like. Was hoping that might be noticed if anyone was looking for how your tone was received.

Also, I have weird taste and know it.

Fair point about the style not being copied. My reference there was actually about the handset and the use of thickness proportion. You’ll see this technique used on older Seikos (I also browse the Antique Watch Bar a ton) as well as the current Riki line.

Carry on and have a good time!

Let's see how this one lands.

Seiko Spirit SBTM233. 40mm, solar, sapphire and radio setting.

Usual terrible Seiko product photos. I love the sterility of dial, all necessary tech markings have been shrunk where they would all but disappear at arms length. Classic Seiko slender batons with an extra 3-D effect as they slope to the dial surface. With a big crown and 10 ATM it looks like a perfect GADA, sport to boardroom piece.

Mostly gone from the market, a couple still on Rakuten.

If I wanted to settle for the SBMT255 with black sunburst dial they are still available on eBay. The 233 has a matte black dial.

Rolex steel sport. Any of them. The price suddenly increased by 50% or doubled for no real reason (other than the daily this and that rumors). I may buy one one day when I “dont have to ask” but right now it is just stupid.

I should have purchased a black gen 2.5 Seiko Monster when they were still available at reasonable prices. Ditto for the Seiko SARB033.

Another beautiful Orient. The Millennium. Inexplicably discontinued and rare as hell. I’d love to own one.

I have one thing to say.....

I waited for Bertuchhi to come out with a chrono and in the end, they never did and I missed out on several watches that I lust to have. Being somewhat obsessive, I have a hard time buying used.

    Lesson learned.

IF YOU LIKE THE WATCH, BUY THE WATCH

This is another good reason why Ultra Affordable watches are just a great idea! So the Price Limit for an Ultra Affordable is going to change for most people and even then change within limits over time, for me my limits are from around £50 up to a £200 ceiling and as long as I don't expect to (Spend) Invest the limit every day/week and occasionally monthly I can afford it aka, get away with it

OK so I have a bunch of great but very cheap watches that I maybe wear once in a Blue Moon, I also have some watches at my extreme end of expenditure that I don't wear monthly, but enjoy at certain times of the year. What I will say is that I like every watch that I have in what I laughing call a "Collection" which more resembles a selection of fortunate happen stances, but we won't dwell on that.

I can honestly say that I have never bought a watch I did not like. I will say that however, sometimes the reality did not meet up with what I thought I was buying. But I do have a number of friends who are now wearing watches that they liked more than I did, and there are a number of charity Shops that have hopefully profited from some that I thought I liked, worked just fine, but did not give me the urge to wear any more!

So I try to Buy The Watch if I like it. I will shop around to try to get the best price though and I won't put myself in any type of debt, to buy whatever is actually on a whim if I am honest. Truthfully I probably really need one watch Maybe I can truly justify having Three??? So why the hell have I got getting on for a three digit number of watches? Probably the best answer is: Because I can and I Like Em

Therefore I hope to never having to get too the point, where I regret having not bought a watch I really wanted!

    That is the theory anyway

    Very best regards,
    Jim
