    Hi,
I'm glad there's people out there interested in West-end watches!
I'm a collector of this brand but only for timepieces prior to 1940, usually with enamel dials and in the case of wristwatches with fixed lugs, like the example posted.
I'm very fun of this one-it has the original very thick glass crystal, dial in mint condition and inner back-case with the typical CS(I) initials indicating Civil service in India.
Pocket watches are the most good looking I've ever seen!!
I've got several others that I'm happy to post later on.
P.S. I almost forgot, it keeps very accurate time, extremely rare for a watch of it's age!!

I just bought one on Ebay. Prior to that i had never heard of them...I just noticed that I could get a 21 jewel watch automatic for about $50. Is that a good deal for a watch of this calibre? What is their reputation. Here in the States I never saw one...

Thanks! I'm new to the forum!

    Hello Alvaro:
I believe that if I write this in Spanish you will understand me, but we are in an english language forum, so here is my post in english.
I like very much the West End brand too, and sometimes is possible to find real bargains from some eBay Indian sellers (specifically watchdot).
I bought from him today a lady West End Fowan Prima for...$9! including shipment. However, I was unable to find any information regarding the movement that the watch bears.
Maybe you, as a collector of this brand, can help me out in this.
Please check the pictures attached and let me know if your know something about this example of West End.
    Greetings from Chile
    Andy

Ive also had good experiences with watchdot. I have a second mechanical in the mail from him and the first one was great.

I really like the looks of West End watches and am interested in the brand -- probably because of my Anglo-Indian roots. I own one and I will likely buy more someday.

I think they were quite popular in India at one time. I have seen many interpretations of the spelling of the name of one model, which is, I believe, "Sowar" -- a cavalry soldier. As far as I know the company still exists.

    Here is mine:

Nice looking watch, it appears they are 35mm cases, is this true? If so it's too bad because that is just too small for my taste. was just on eBay and they all seem to be 35mm.

Thank you. I don't know about any others, but mine is 35 mm.
