Question Alpha 369 Explorer 1 Homage Availability

    Hi folks,

I don't know much about Chinese watches, but I have recently taken a liking to Alpha's Explorer 1 homages and would like to try one.
Unfortunately, this model seems to have disappeared. Am I looking in the wrong places or is it discontinued?
I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
    Best regards
    Jan

It's been out of stock for a long time now so I suspect it has been discontinued. They do show up used sometimes though.

It is hard to find. About 3 weeks ago one showed up on ebay and sold for $80. Before then, I had not seen one in about 7 months and it showed up here for sale.

I checked with Alpha on this myself a few weeks ago. They don't make them anymore and no plans to make it the future. Bummer, I wanted one as well.

You have to keep checking on Alpha's site or send them emails. Quite often it is just that they don't have them in stock, and sometimes they have the parts to make them if you ask. But yes, they do drop some, like the Explorer. The PO homage pops up all the time, it must be popular as they have raised the price on that one from ~72 to ~85.

Thanks a lot for your replies, gents. You've confirmed my suspicions.

Well, it's not the end of the world. I've found a different fish to fry.

Not exactly in the Explorer-style, I went for a Sea-Gull M177S (old version with the ST16 and mineral crystal) on the bay for a decent price. Now the wait begins.
I'm really anxious to see what kind of quality Sea-Gull can deliver in this price range, since I've never owned one.
Being a Seiko-aficionado this will be my first contact with a Chinese watch.

Nice. The M177S is a really pretty watch and well made and finished for the price. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
