Is the price premium on the D304 b/c it is limited edition? Or are there other reasons? Any considerations besides cosmetic differences when comparing the two?

I have the same question. As Chinese watch newbie...the price differential is enormous. Especially on a percentage basis. Wondering if the quality is significantly better with the D304 which is now $650.

D304 is a Seagull watch while 1963 is actually a OEM watch. (you don't see the Seagull logo, and probably not the same level of QA) D304 price is in line with other ST19 watches sold by Seagull

Hi, i was wondering what is the difference between 19 and 21 zuan?

I got mine from thomas, had it for a year and planning to let go when i move to a new watch.

from what i read, the 19 and 21 zuan are the same.
19 zuan is just a homage marking to the original 1963.
in fact, the reissue 1963 in St19 has 21 zuan (jewel).
    hope it helps

This is partially correct. Look in the reference section for lysanderxiii's ST19 teardown. He thinks that ST19's from HK Sea-Gull (Thomas) have 21 jewels while ST19's from Tianjin Sea-Gull have 23 jewels (D303, Sea-Gull branded)
