    jump hour movement

Hi all, I'm sourcing an affordable movement for my project. It has to be jump hour with center hour disk.

I did a little research on seagull movements but that's rather hard without knowing any Chinese
the most common TY-2709 is a no-go. the jump hour disk is not at the center of the dial (see picture)

I was thinking maybe ST17T3 (1723) can be the one I need, but can't find much info.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'd prefer a mechanical movement, but there's a chance quartz will suit my needs too.

    Re: jump hour movement

Alpha make some jump hour watches, which look like they might have the disk in the centre, but it's hard to know without seeing one opened up. I don't know what movement they use, but you might be able to hunt it down. Sorry, I know this isn't much of a lead, but it's all I've got. Somebody else might be a lot more help, though.

thanks J. F. Sebastian, the alphas were discussed at WUS before, I read through that treads
As far as I understood their jump hours (and Androids) use
TY-2709, though I'm a bit confused about the jewels count. it's either 20 or 21.

Ah, so the Alphas use the movement you have already discounted. Sorry to have lead you to a dead end! Good luck in finding something else.

Breitling have started making jump hours? How very Chinese!

Sorry, I don't know what Chinese movement would fit this dial layout. ST1720/1721/1723/TY-2709 is close but the one you're after has the minute hand off-set toward 12 o'clock, and this in turn precludes the hour disk pivoting at 1:30. My guess is that it's something with a centrally pivoting hour disk. And possibly not made by Sea-Gull.

    Re: jump hour movement

breitling does make jump hour in their "for bentley" series. The problem is I'm not really sure if the picture taken from the Chinese store if of a real Breitling or of the fake they sell, sometimes they do put a picture of a real watch instead of a replica online. Usual breitling jump hour fakes look much simpler and look like powered by TY-2709

anyway, any ideas about a currently produced movement that has "centrally pivoting hour disk" and affordable?

    Re: jump hour movement

So I bought one Chinese watch with the movement I need, and took it apart (the movement photos are borrowed from the owner of CrazyWatches.pl, who generously helped me with my search)

the seller told me that his movement is most likely produced by Guangzhou, but she doesn't know any details.

Would be thankful for help in identifying this movement

I think it might be a Nanning movement, which is virtually identical to the Dixmont Guangzhou movement apart from some very minor details. Unfortunately I don't know what the correct designation is for the jump-hour. It will start with NN28.. or NN38.. I guess. Likewise if there is a Guangzhou jump-hour it will be a DG28.. or DG38..
