Are Maison Celadon and Beijing Watch Factory related

hi there guys. I have been looking at Maison Celadon work, apart from the imperial peacock model, their work seems quite similar with Beijing watch factory's designs.

    Anybody have some input.

Imagine a chef with good ideas and aspirational standards walked into your kitchen and saw the ingredients and resources to make stuff that you didn't have the wherewithall and drive to produce.

Dearest Joey, thanks very much for your interest in my work. :)

The only model in our current range that bears any similarity to Beijing's watches is the Imperial, which you could think of as an extremely-improved Beihai, in technical quality, design, exclusivity, brand experience, among others.

Also, the similarity is with the Beihai 1 specifically. The Beihai 2 and 3 took some design cues from the Imperial First Series of 2013, and the Beihai 4 onwards is a completely different beast, designed and made predominantly by Fiyta and marketed and sold by them. So only old-stock Beihai 2 and 3 on certain English-language web stores bear any resemblance to the Imperial. I basically took what was already an excellent watch, but plagued by certain design and technical deficiencies, and improved it to what is in my opinion a watch worthy of competing with the Swiss and German brands.

Please see this French article for a tongue-in-cheek but lucidly-written piece that encapsulates the distinctiveness of a Chinese watch brand that dares to compete with the Swiss and German mainstream brands - I love the line "jusqu 'a Celadon" :D
Celadon.: Celafin ou les Chinois à Genève - Foudroyante

I also wrote a short list of some differences and improvements between us and the Beijing Beihai on this thread -
    https://forums.watchuseek.com/f72/cel...s-4153418.html

Going forward with the Yue Fei and Celestial Silk, which have no equivalents in the current Beijing model range, nor for that matter any other watch brand on the planet, Maison Celadon will pull further away and higher upwards from the Beijing model range, which remains a solid brand for excellent value-for-money watches.

And when the Celadon Sovereign comes... that's when we shall rewrite the rules ;)

    Stay tuned folks!

I got you . Thanks very much for taking the time out to explain. I really do like your designs and think they are minmalist but yet very classy.
I will definitely be a proud owner of at least one of your watches very soon.

Haha Sidney, I can say that the Sovereign will feature a Celadon-Grade B24 movement, coupled with our distinctive and robust Century case and yet another showcase of Chinese dial artistry, a trait which is now a hallmark of Maison Celadon. The Celadon Sovereign will be the pillar of our Haute Horlogerie family.

The design of the Sovereign was directly inspired by our trip to Taiwan in June, where we visited the Taipei Palace Museum and viewed the former imperial collections of the Emperors of China.

We're working towards a functional prototype before Christmas... You'll be the first to see updates!
