    Starking AM0217

    Hello fellow watch lovers!

I've watched this part of the forum for a long time, but never registered until today!
While I'm waiting for my Shanghai/Diamond watch from G.S., I went and bought something from "StarKing".
Now I never heard of the brand or what kind of movements they used, but this one caught my eye and for the price of 95usd it was worth the gamble.

Got it today and I am pleasantly surprised. The quality feels good, nicely assembled. The band feels good around the wrist, but I have seen nicer bands.
It's an automatic and can't say how it keeps time yet, but man do I love the design of this thing.

So here are a few of my pictures:

Very nice catch! It's not a brand that I am familiar with, but in those photos it looks nicely detailed with a high standard of finish.

Interesting to see the movement is signed "SK", although my best guess is that it is derived from some variant of the Nanning NN28.

I can see great build quality from your pictures.

I like the metal Starking Logo on the ROTOR. But I think they could improve it by machined the ROTOR itself. Not just attaching add-on metal logo.

Only one flaw, it's missing the lume on the hour hand.

If it's intended to be blank, I guess the minute hand should also be blank.

After using it 24-hours in, I don't notice any significant time deviation. So for now it keeps time.

I'll keep this updated after a week of use for anyone interested.

Last report: after a week of use, it keeps time rather well. I've lost a few minutes, but is in acceptable range.

Not a fan of the diamond markers but the overall look of the watch is nice.

How easy is it to wind and set with that crown protector?

It doesn't cover the whole crown and is easily accessible from the underside. So winding and setting isn't really harder to do, if it's not on your wrist that is.
On the wrist it could be a little more finicky, but then again you wouldn't need to wind it. :)

Not very font of the diamond markers at 12 & 6 o clock, but that dial and movement finishing looks pretty neat for the money. Wondering if the blue on the crown will fade quickly, in most cases that fades quickly and gets ugly, so I prefer non-blued crowns in this price range. Nice overall model though, not another "homage", they really tried to make something on their own. :)

Love this watch! Was hoping that the 11.11 sale would net this down some but $80.79 is the best I have found
