Zhenzhu Ladies Dlki (Zhenzhu Dalian) Chinese VCM?

I just picked this up on the Bay, quite interesting. I got it under $10 Canadian. It's a ladies 19 Jewel VCM from what I can see. No movement photos, but I'm excited to open it up.

Seller says it runs for a bit then stops, so probably just needs clean/oil which shouldn't be too hard. (Famous last words)

Anything I should know? I'm not worried if it's not worth much, I decided to go look for rare/odd items.

    Neat little piece.
It likely uses the Tongji (统机) Chinese Standard Movement.
Runs and stops could be any number of issues. The worst case is you have a bad main spring or a balance wheel issue. Both are super cheap in China but might be as rare as hen's teeth in Canada.
The best case is that the works are gummed up and just need a good cleaning/oiling.
Have you serviced other watches before? If so, the tongji will be a dream to work with. They are very basic movements and have a straight-forward layout.
I would be happy to help you if you run into any snafus along the way.

This will help you out too:

I learned servicing watches by repairing Poljot movements, If memory serves 1216 or was it 2416? Anyways, I bought about a hundred of these movements and took em apart and cleaned and (roughly) oiled them.

If the geartrain is the standard Tongi lightning bolt type (I call it that due to shape of the top plate) it's a pain but can be done. I like some of the early russian ones which had triangular plates that made it almost effortless to get everything in line.

I'll post some photos once it arrives which should be in perhaps a week or so.

Looks a bit smaller than a Tongji-powered watch to my eyes. The misspelling of the name on the dial is curious as it looks in every other way authentic. Could be one of those rare factory misprints.

It really does happen. Decades ago, Sea-Gull sold an 'Automaic' and Swiss brand Wyler made a 'Heaty-Duty' diver.
