    Cats, Dogs and other pets

My constant companion of more than 14 years recently lost his battle with cancer, his name was Boo and I'm missing him more than I can say.

So, to cheer me up and celebrate those furry, feathered (or anything else) friends that bring us such pleasure, post photos of the pets who share or have shared your life.

Sorry, I meant no offence. I was trying to share in the op's love for his lost mate.

    Sorry about what happened, Peaky!

I´m sharing here the two we have with us. Male is a British Shorthair (similar to Boo) and the female a stray cat, great looking.

Oh, I don't think anyone took offense. It's clear you were just sharing in the enjoyment of pets. It's just that I after had read the OP and the next thing I saw was your pic, and I saw it before I read the message you wrote. I just had to laugh because of the thought that went through my own mind as a result of the sequence of events, which culminated in my seeing the image of your cat laid out on its back looking like a dead cat, not because I felt there's something amiss or inappropriate with your pic.

I have four cats, so I know that pose is quite common for cats, but when I saw the pic, I still wondered, "is it alive or dead in that photo?"

    All the best.

I am so sorry to read about the loss of your pet. They become such a part of our families - and our lives, that their absence is more profound than words can say and I extend to you my sincerest condolences.

Re: Cats, Dogs and other pets

My condolences for your loss. Non-animal people sometimes have a hard time understading that pets are just as much a memeber of your family as anyone else, and the loss can be equally heartbreaking.

I'm generally not one for taking pictures of my pets, but my male cat Skibadee is over 16 years old and while he is still active, I can't help but notice how much smaller he is than when he was in his prime. We've had cats in the family that lived for more than 20 years, but that's not the norm. Skib was born in a dirty laundry hamper in my closet all that time ago, I've had him since day 1.

Re: Cats, Dogs and other pets

my deepest sympathies for your loss....as CADstraps said, non animal people sometimes don't get it, but us animaliers know exactly how you feel.

One of the things I'm missing the most from my separation is my pets.

My boy Lucky, who I rescued from the side of the highway a couple years ago. The best dog I've ever had.

Chispi, my almost 15 yr old bulldog, who is still at that age a royal PITA!

And now there is La Pulgita, yet another black cat I found

    And she looooves Chispi
