    Authentic bling ?!

While casually browsing watch forums for sale / trade I noticed that folks selling lot of Michael Kors , Fossils and Invictas, claiming that they "authentic".

To me it seems bit redundant - I mean, seriously, who would fake those brands?

Cheap or not China is full of copies of all the fashion watch crap. If its 1/3 the price of the original it will sell.
You can even get fake Daniel Wellington...

the idea, from what I see, is not faking a watch, but a brand.
they make, well, whatever, and slap a random fashion brand name on it.

also, you're overestimating 99% of the world's population's brand perception,
I've seen things, I tell ya..

stuff of nightmares, I dare not repeat even to myself,
and those I've seen here, where there should be little excuse, were met on the most part with 'wear what you like' and the likes of this.

    Consider this:

Buying and wearing a blingy fashion watch is lame.
    But...
Buying and wearing a cheap copy of a blingy fashion watch - that is cool!

Who wouldn't fake them? "Fashion" brands have broad appeal with the general public who don't know much about watches and shop the name. Additionally, the quality on these watches is typically pretty mediocre, so nobody would notice the often mediocre quality of cheap knockoffs as a giveaway that it's not the genuine article.
