    Borealis Scorpionfish

Just arrived this afternoon. Not a fan of how it wears on the bracelet but a new band is in the mail. I have 20-30 spare straps but none are 24mm, argh!
Even with the straight lugs I think it'll look great on my 7.25" wrist. One thing I noticed is there aren't any helium valves, I think the previous version had 2 of them. I'm glad they got rid of those. Well, not much I can do now except wait for the strap to arrive.

i've put 22mm rubber straps on a 24mm watch, and you dont even notice. The trick is to use a thicker pin (that you need to push into the strap eye), and that holds the 22mm strap in the middle of the 24mm case without sliding side to side. Doesnt sound right, but it actually looks fine.

Yeah I considered doing that. This one uses screw bars instead of pins. The bars are pretty thick though so the strap would likely remain centered. Maybe I'll try it while I'm waiting for the 24mm to arrive.

I've used pieces of stripped color matched wire insulation as spacers on either end of the springbar to keep my 22mm straps centered on my 24mm lugs.

That's an interesting idea hadn't thought of that. Have any pics of how that looks?

Looked at Spencer Kliens Mail Call video #70 on YouTube. He explained a similar hack using a ball point pen tube. He used it on the Seiko MarineMaster he was wearing during the video. Its at the 2:40 mark.

How about a 24 mm mesh? That would jive with the retro look nicely, IMO. I've got two 24's on a couple of my watches. Both were modified by clipping a ring off each end to fit the 22 mm lugs. Super comfy as well. Just a thought.

    Re: Borealis Scorpionfish

Mesh could work, as long as the bars (they aren't springbars) can fit through the links on the mesh, they're pretty thick. Until my 24mm strap arrives I have it on a 22mm Borealis rubber. The bars are so thick that the strap ends do not move at all. Good enough for now, and I might even leave it this way if I don't like how the 24mm wears.
