I just got a Tissot Sea Star 1000 with a silver dial. The bezel no longer has the red paint in the small spaces in the first quarter of the bezel and also lost its shine on the numbers and other areas. Any ideas of the type of red paint and what to use to paint in the notches and how to buff and shine the bezel?
Mothers mag polish is a very good polishing agent which i found to be very useful in bringing back the shine.
The paste in the can as opposed to the liquid in the plastic bottle is better because you can control the amount. Use carefully and take your time. For the red
i would search for red paint at a hobby shop or home depot. Automotive red paint as in a touch paint with applicator pen tip would be a good choice.
Finding the right shade would be the hardest part. Hope this helps..
When I use to mod I used Testors enamel paint and oilers to drop the paint in but in your situation a tooth pick will work just fine. Here is a link form the bay. Hope this help. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Testors-1103-Red-gloss-enamel-1-4oz-model-paint-new-/150849235180
Thanks, I will order that.. Do you have any ideas on buffing the bezel or does it look like the shine is just worn off?
